I am Lanie, a mother of three sons and I am a single mom. My children were still young when my husband died. if illness. I was 33 years old when I became a widow. My situation was difficult when my husband died because I was the only one supporting my children, but despite all the hardships, I faced it for my children. I work so that we could have food and my children could go to school. I also worked in a factory, I worked many jobs just to survive. I am grateful for my sister was there to help me.
A few years passed and my oldest son finished high school. He was unable to attend college because we did bot have money, so he just worked to help me. The two of us go to the factory and our salary is weekly so it is good thing because at least I have a partner in life while my two children are both in high school. Until my second son finished high school because he wanted to finish college, he studied at a vocational school as an electronics technician. We didn’t have money for college, so he only took vocational course for two years.
Two years passed and my second son finished his studies. He told me that he wanted to go abroad because he wanted our lives to be better. At first, I didn’t agree because it was far and I wasn’t used to my children being far from me but because I saw his determination to work abroad, I agreed. My son applied to Saudi Arabia as a electrician and it was good thing because he was accepted immediately. I borrowed money from people I knew for my son’s placement fee and in just a few weeks, he was able to leave for abroad.
Every month, my son sends money and at least somewhat better and his going abroad is a big help for us because our youngest son was able to study at college. My second son pay his tuition at school. Until he finished college and his brother want him to work in Saudi. At that time, I could say that our life became easier because three of them were working, so they stopped me to working and I was just at home. I thank to God for giving me a three good sons.
After a few years my two children had stable jobs in abroad. They helped their older brother go there and in just a few weeks he left the country, the three of them were working there in Saudi. Even though my children were far away, I didn’t worry because they were together there.
After a few years, my children renovated our shack house before it was just a shack, now our house is three stories high and they built a small store so that I wouldn’t get bored here at home. I can say that God has been very good to us. If before I only dreamed of this, which was unlikely to happen because we were poor, now it has come true.
They were always told before that my children would have a successful life but now I am grateful to the God because he did not abandon us and my children who were kind and persevered in life so that our lives would be comfortable. Now my children have their own families and all of them are living a good life in Saudi.
